About to graduate, I look back and think of all the things I wish I had done, or done more of.
I wish I had gone to more games and been more spirited. Most students throughout high school don't understand why there are so many seniors that paint up for games and show so much enthusiasm. It seems stupid and you feel like you're more mature and you're above that. But as a senior I see now how wrong people are who think like that. You only go through high school once, why not go a little crazy? Go to a game, take your shirt off paint your chest, and yell. Some of the best memories I have of high school are going to soccer and basketball games shirtless covered in red and white paint and yelling till I was hoarse.
One of if not my favorite memory of high school, was at a DC home soccer game, we had a huge fan section, and when it time to listen to the national anthem the sound system wouldn't work. There was long awkward pause and so I started singing the national anthem to myself and those around me. Others joined in and soon we had the entire student fan section and some parents singing along to our nation's song. The next morning at school the fan section received acknowledgment and praise for singing. I'll never forget this as long as I live, and it wouldn't have happened if I had chose to stay home that night.
As I look back I wonder how many other memories like that I missed out on because I chose to stay home one night...
