I don't understand, why some teachers take the rules so personally and enforce them as if they are the most important thing in the world.
Some things must be enforced, such as theft, fights, or bullying. But having to stop in the middle of a crowded hallway to yank out your ID from your pocket to appease a teacher even though you can clearly see the lanyard hanging from the pocket. Why is this such a big deal? Why do teachers seem to have such a personal stake in this pointless practice? Why are guys questioned about holes in jeans that are slightly above the knee? I've seen guys were shorts that expose more upper leg than jeans like these. Going into the teachers lounge with a teachers ID to purchase them a coke should not be a offense warranting a loud public scolding, but yet I've experienced this.
My personal opinion and I know I'm not the only person who shares the same views. Teachers need to find something better to do, like actually teaching perhaps. Most of the people at DC who scold people for things like ID's. They do nothing throughout the day. If they had something to do to preoccupy their time this would probably help. They would also come into touch with reality and see how not of a big deal things like having a ID around a neck really is. They could be exerting all that time and energy else where in actually making a difference.
Teachers just need to relax. It's high school.
